The Spanish giants Real Madrid has become the richest club in the world. To the second position is European Champions Manchester United. The report was released by Il Corrierer Dello Sport from Deloitte.
According to the report, Los Merengues lead the rich list after they generated €366 million during season 2007-08. Manchester United is with €325 m and Barcelona ranked in the third place with an income of €309m for the same period. The greatest influence of their incomes was the Premier League. Milan has become the richest Italian Club. In overall they are in the eighth position with income of €210m. The Old Lady of Italian football, Juventus, are on the eleventh position in the top 20 list.
In the Serie A top four clubs the Bianconeri are the poorest earners. Roma remains behind Milan on €175m followed by Inter with an income of €173m. finally the Juve with €168m.
In the top 20 list there are Bayern Munich, Schalke 04, Hamburg and Stuttgart from the Bundesliga. France’s Ligue 1 is also represented with Olympique Lyonnais and Olympique de Marseille making the rich list. Fenerbahce of Turkey is also there in the list.
