Gonzalo Higuain, striker of Real Madrid, may agree terms with the club. The new long-term contract is on the process to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu. Higuain has been one of the most consistent performers of Los Blancos in the last two seasons. Not only that, this season Higuain has scored 14 goals in all the competitions. He displaced Karim Benzema as the first-choice attacker in the side of coach Manuel Pellegrini.
According to reports, the club earlier chosen of offering ‘Pipita’ improved terms for ensuring parity of earnings between Higuain and Karim Benzema. Jorge Valdano, the Sporting Director, commenced that negotiations with his representatives is going on and both the parties will be in a position over the next few days to make an announcement.
Higuain got injury on Saturday evening and returned back to a rapturous reception from the home support. He sealed a 3-0 win over the Espanyol with a sublime finish.
Marcelo and Esteban Granero, the team-mates, heaped praise on Higuain after the match. The player said that he believes La Liga title is within their reach.
